Ready? Let’s go.

What’s the cheapest country for PS Plus?

Turkey is the cheapest PS plus country. If you obtain a Turkish IP address and you’re able to complete the registration, you can get it for way less than you otherwise would.

In this country, PS Plus Essential is available at 40 TL a month, which translates to just $1.49. For comparison, the price for US players is $9.99.

Additionally, if you purchase a 12-month Essential plan in Turkey, you’ll be able to get it for just 400 TL or $8.95, which translates to only $0.74/mo.

However, due to registration problems (I’ll talk about them later), you may also want to consider buying PS Plus from Indonesia.

The price for PS Plus Essential in Indonesia is Rp 89,000 – equivalent to $5.81. And grabbing a 12-month deal costs you Rp 709,000, which is $46.17, or $3.84/month.

These price differences are mostly due to exchange rates and other economic factors. Similarly to Xbox, PlayStation implemented them to make subscriptions more accessible to players across the world.

Now, let’s look at the top 10 countries with the lowest prices for a 1-month Essential subscription:

Turkey$1.49 (40 TL)

How to pay for PS Plus in Indonesia?

To pay for PS Plus in Indonesia, you need help from someone who lives in the country. With their banking information, you can complete the purchase yourself without trouble.

But first, let’s look at why I advise you to go for Indonesia.

Turkey is the natural option here due to its extremely low prices. Still, in my tests, I was unable to register on the Turkish PS Store even with an IP address in the country.

While you can still technically have someone from Turkey do it for you, similar complications may arise again later, and you may need more assistance from them.

South Korea is the next logical option. However, registering on the PlayStation Store from there requires identity verification through NICE iPIN.

Unless you have someone from Korea who’s ready to use their personal information, this location also won’t work for you.

Next up is Japan. However, the registration requires manual typing in Japanese, which won’t be easy for most people.

And I found the price difference between Japan and Indonesia ($0.04) to be not worth the hassle.

So, I registered on the PS Plus with an Indonesian IP address instead.

Doing this lets you do everything in English, plus, there’s no need to confirm your identity and you can complete the whole registration yourself.

So, all you need is banking information from someone in the country, and you’ll be good to go.

Summary

So, Turkey is definitely the cheapest country for PS Plus. However, you can’t register on the Turkish PlayStation Store even when using a VPN.

The only way to buy the subscription from there is to have someone else do all the work for you.

For other locations, like Indonesia, you still need a credit card from someone in the country, but you can sign up and make the purchase yourself.

So, my advice is to think of a relative or friend in one of the countries where PS Plus is cheaper and ask them to let them use their banking information to buy a subscription.
