How to Watch How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days on Netflix in the US with a VPN (2026)

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003) is currently available on Netflix in Brazil. The official Netflix Brazil page lists the romantic comedy starring Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey under the Portuguese title Como Perder um Homem em 10 Dias, with English audio and subtitles.

However, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is not currently available on Netflix US. If you’re in the United States, you can try connecting to a Brazilian VPN server using Private Internet Access, ExpressVPN, or NordVPN. All three providers support Brazilian IP addresses.

Keep in mind that connecting to Brazil does not guarantee access to the movie. According to Netflix’s VPN guidelines, the service may recognize VPN connections and limit the available catalog to titles with worldwide distribution rights.

How to watch How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days on Netflix with a VPN

Since Netflix Brazil currently carries How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, you can try connecting to a Brazilian VPN server before opening Netflix. Follow these steps:

1. Choose a VPN. Private Internet Access is our first recommendation, followed by ExpressVPN and NordVPN.
2. Download and install the VPN app.
3. Connect to a server in Brazil.
4. Fully close Netflix if it is already open.
5. Reopen Netflix after the VPN connects.
6. Sign in with your existing Netflix account.
7. Search for How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.
8. Start playback if the title appears.

Brazil is a suitable location to try because the Netflix Brazil listing currently displays the movie without an unavailability warning. It also confirms English-language playback, English subtitles, and offline downloads.

If the movie does not appear under its English name, try searching for Como Perder um Homem em 10 Dias. Netflix may display the Portuguese title in Brazil, although it may still detect the VPN and restrict playback.

Best VPNs for watching How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days on Netflix

Private Internet Access, ExpressVPN, and NordVPN all provide Brazilian VPN connections. PIA includes a dedicated streaming-optimized option, while ExpressVPN offers two Brazilian server entries and NordVPN provides more than 20 servers.

VPN	Brazil locations	Option to try first
Private Internet Access (Editor’s Choice)	Brazil, BR Streaming Optimized; São Paulo IP location	BR Streaming Optimized
ExpressVPN	Brazil, Brazil – 2; physical São Paulo servers	Brazil
NordVPN	20+ Brazilian servers, São Paulo	Automatic Brazil server selection

These locations come from the providers’ official server documentation. Although all three services offer Brazilian IP addresses, none guarantees access to How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days through Netflix.

1. Private Internet Access

Private Internet Access is our Editor’s Choice for How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days because it offers a dedicated Brazil Streaming Optimized location alongside its standard Brazilian VPN option.

According to the official PIA server directory, the available Brazilian locations include Brazil and BR Streaming Optimized.

Start with BR Streaming Optimized. PIA provides this location specifically for streaming performance, making it the first connection worth trying when accessing Brazilian streaming services.

Open the PIA application, navigate to the server list, and search for Brazil. Select BR Streaming Optimized and connect before reopening Netflix.

If How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days does not appear, disconnect and switch to the standard Brazil location. You can also reconnect to BR Streaming Optimized to try another available Brazilian server.

PIA’s Brazil IP address guide identifies São Paulo as its Brazilian IP location. However, the application directory lists Brazil and BR Streaming Optimized rather than multiple separately selectable Brazilian cities.

There is also an important detail about PIA’s infrastructure. According to its official Brazil VPN page, PIA uses virtual servers for Brazil, with the physical hardware located outside the country.

This means PIA gives you a Brazilian IP address while routing your connection through server hardware in another country. PIA does not specify the exact physical hosting country on the documentation reviewed, so it would be inaccurate to name one.

PIA supports WireGuard and OpenVPN connections. WireGuard is a reasonable first choice because its lightweight design can provide efficient performance for streaming and other internet activities.

If Netflix does not display the movie, try switching Brazilian servers, changing protocols, or clearing browser cookies. PIA also provides a streaming support guide with additional troubleshooting instructions.

Even with BR Streaming Optimized, Netflix may still recognize PIA’s IP addresses and restrict regional content. The provider cannot guarantee that How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days will appear or play.

2. ExpressVPN

ExpressVPN is another option for connecting to Brazil. The provider offers two Brazilian server entries, giving users an alternative if one connection experiences problems.

The official ExpressVPN server directory currently lists Brazil and Brazil – 2. Both locations support protocols including Lightway, WireGuard, and OpenVPN, depending on your device.

Start with Brazil. Open the ExpressVPN application, search for Brazil, and connect to the first available location before reopening Netflix.

If the movie does not appear, disconnect and try Brazil – 2. Switching between these options may provide a different Brazilian IP address without changing countries.

ExpressVPN’s São Paulo VPN page confirms that the provider maintains two physical server locations in São Paulo.

Unlike virtual locations that provide an IP address from one country while using hardware elsewhere, ExpressVPN’s Brazilian connections use physical servers in Brazil.

Its official virtual server documentation also explains that countries not included in its published virtual location list use physical server infrastructure within the selected country. Brazil does not appear on that virtual location list.

ExpressVPN uses its Lightway protocol to establish encrypted connections efficiently. You can also try WireGuard or OpenVPN if your device supports them and you experience connection problems.

The provider’s Brazil VPN page provides additional details about Brazilian IP addresses, supported devices, and connection options.

However, physical servers in São Paulo do not guarantee Netflix access. Netflix may still recognize ExpressVPN’s IP addresses as VPN connections and limit the movies available through them.

3. NordVPN

NordVPN provides Brazilian IP addresses through more than 20 servers and supports automatic server selection.

According to NordVPN’s official Brazil server page, the provider currently advertises more than 20 Brazilian servers and identifies São Paulo as its Brazilian city location.

For the first connection, open NordVPN, select Brazil, and allow the application to choose an available server automatically. This is the simplest option if you do not have a particular server preference.

You can also select São Paulo through the available location controls. If Netflix does not display How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, disconnect and reconnect to another Brazilian server.

NordVPN’s published server count may change as the provider updates its network. The official page confirms Brazil support and the São Paulo IP location, but it does not document the physical hosting arrangements of every individual endpoint.

NordVPN also includes SmartPlay, a feature that combines VPN encryption with DNS technology to improve streaming compatibility while maintaining a secure connection.

According to NordVPN’s SmartPlay documentation, the feature activates automatically when you connect through the NordVPN application.

You do not need to activate SmartPlay separately, install an additional extension, or change your DNS settings. It runs in the background as part of your regular VPN connection.

However, SmartPlay does not guarantee access to How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days or any other regional Netflix movie. Netflix may still recognize NordVPN and restrict the available catalog.

What to do if How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days does not appear

If Netflix does not display How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days after you connect to Brazil, your browser may retain previous location information, or Netflix may have recognized the VPN. Try these troubleshooting steps:

1. Close Netflix completely.
2. Disconnect from the VPN.
3. Reconnect to Brazil.
4. Try another server or location in the same country.
5. Clear Netflix cookies and your browser cache.
6. Open a private or incognito browser window.
7. Reopen Netflix and sign in again.
8. Search for How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.

Private Internet Access users should start with BR Streaming Optimized and then try the standard Brazil location. ExpressVPN users can switch between Brazil and Brazil – 2. NordVPN users can reconnect automatically or select another Brazilian server associated with São Paulo.

You can also search for Como Perder um Homem em 10 Dias, the Portuguese title Netflix uses in Brazil.

If the movie still does not appear, Netflix may be restricting its catalog because of VPN detection. The Netflix missing titles guide explains other possible reasons, including licensing changes, maturity restrictions, and language preferences.

Netflix may detect the VPN

A VPN changes the public IP address Netflix sees when your device connects to the service. For example, connecting to a Brazilian VPN location generally gives Netflix a Brazilian IP address instead of your usual US address.

However, a Brazilian IP address does not guarantee access to the country’s Netflix catalog. Netflix may recognize that the connection comes from a VPN provider and limit which movies and shows appear.

According to Netflix’s official VPN support page, users connecting through a VPN may only see titles for which Netflix has worldwide distribution rights.

That means How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days may remain unavailable in your Netflix search results even when your VPN application shows Brazil as the connected country.

Trying another Brazilian server may resolve some connection problems, but Netflix can still restrict regional playback. No VPN provider guarantees access to every Netflix catalog.

Can you use a Netflix ad-supported plan with a VPN?

No. Netflix currently states that its ad-supported experience does not support VPN connections.

If you subscribe to a Netflix plan with ads, you may encounter playback restrictions or VPN-related errors when connecting through Private Internet Access, ExpressVPN, or NordVPN.

Netflix confirms this limitation in its VPN support documentation. To use an ad-supported subscription normally, disconnect your VPN.

An ad-free Netflix subscription avoids this particular restriction, but Netflix may still detect VPN connections and limit access to region-specific movies.

Does changing the VPN location change your Netflix account?

No. Connecting to a Brazilian VPN server does not change your Netflix email address, password, profiles, or existing account credentials.

The VPN changes the public IP address Netflix sees. It does not automatically convert your US Netflix account into a Brazilian account or modify your subscription information.

You can continue signing in with your existing Netflix credentials. However, the movies and shows Netflix displays may depend on regional licensing restrictions, account settings, and whether the service recognizes your VPN connection.

The Netflix US title page does not currently confirm US availability for How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. Current US streaming listings instead identify Paramount+ and Amazon Prime Video among the available options.

When you disconnect from the VPN, Netflix generally recognizes your regular internet location again without changing your Netflix account settings.

Which VPN should you use?

Private Internet Access is our first recommendation because it offers a dedicated BR Streaming Optimized location alongside its standard Brazil connection. Both provide Brazilian IP addresses through virtual server infrastructure, although Netflix may still detect the VPN.

ExpressVPN is a useful alternative thanks to its two physical São Paulo server options. NordVPN also offers more than 20 Brazilian servers, with São Paulo support and SmartPlay, which activates automatically when you connect.

Netflix Brazil currently carries How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003), making Brazil the verified international region for this guide. However, licensing agreements, VPN detection, and server availability can change, so connecting to Brazil does not guarantee playback from the United States.
