How to Watch The Fate of the Furious on Netflix in the US with a VPN (2026)

The Fate of the Furious (2017) is currently available on Netflix in Brazil, where the movie appears under the title Velozes e Furiosos 8. The official Netflix Brazil page confirms that the action movie starring Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, and Jason Statham is part of the country’s streaming catalog, with original English audio and subtitles.

However, The Fate of the Furious is not currently available on Netflix US. If you’re in the United States, you can try connecting to a Brazilian VPN server using Private Internet Access, ExpressVPN, or NordVPN. All three providers offer Brazilian IP addresses.

Keep in mind that connecting to Brazil does not guarantee access to the movie. According to Netflix’s VPN guidelines, the service may recognize VPN connections and limit the available catalog to titles with worldwide licensing rights.

How to watch The Fate of the Furious on Netflix with a VPN

Since Netflix Brazil currently carries The Fate of the Furious, you can try connecting to a Brazilian VPN server before opening Netflix. Follow these steps:

1. Choose a VPN. Private Internet Access is our first recommendation, followed by ExpressVPN and NordVPN.
2. Download and install the VPN app.
3. Connect to a server in Brazil.
4. Fully close Netflix if it is already open.
5. Reopen Netflix after the VPN connects.
6. Sign in with your existing Netflix account.
7. Search for The Fate of the Furious.
8. Start playback if the title appears.

Brazil is a suitable location to try because the Netflix Brazil listing currently displays The Fate of the Furious without an unavailability warning. The page confirms original English audio, English and Portuguese subtitles, and offline downloads.

If the movie does not appear under its English name, try searching for Velozes e Furiosos 8 or Fast & Furious 8. Make sure you select the 2017 movie directed by F. Gary Gray rather than another installment in the franchise.

Best VPNs for watching The Fate of the Furious on Netflix

Private Internet Access, ExpressVPN, and NordVPN all provide Brazilian VPN connections. PIA offers a dedicated streaming-optimized location, ExpressVPN has two physical server locations in São Paulo, and NordVPN maintains more than 20 Brazilian servers.

VPN	Brazil locations	Option to try first
Private Internet Access (Editor’s Choice)	Brazil, BR Streaming Optimized; Brazilian IP addresses	BR Streaming Optimized
ExpressVPN	Brazil, Brazil – 2; physical São Paulo servers	Brazil
NordVPN	20+ Brazilian servers; São Paulo IP location	Automatic Brazil server selection

These locations come from the providers’ official server directories. Although all three VPNs offer Brazilian IP addresses, none guarantees access to The Fate of the Furious through Netflix.

1. Private Internet Access

Private Internet Access is our Editor’s Choice for The Fate of the Furious because it offers a dedicated BR Streaming Optimized location alongside its standard Brazilian VPN connection.

According to the official PIA server directory, updated October 1, 2026, its Brazilian locations include Brazil and BR Streaming Optimized.

Start with BR Streaming Optimized. PIA designed this location for streaming performance, making it a practical first option to try when connecting to Brazilian streaming services.

Open the PIA application, navigate to the VPN server list, and search for Brazil. Select BR Streaming Optimized and connect before reopening Netflix.

If The Fate of the Furious does not appear, disconnect and switch to the standard Brazil location. You can also reconnect to BR Streaming Optimized to obtain another available Brazilian VPN connection.

PIA’s application directory does not identify several separately selectable Brazilian cities. It lists the standard Brazil connection and the specialized streaming option instead.

There is also an important distinction involving PIA’s infrastructure. The provider’s Brazil VPN page describes its Brazilian servers as virtual, with physical hardware outside Brazil.

However, PIA’s September 2026 virtual server directory does not include Brazil. The published documents therefore do not establish a consistent, current physical hosting location for every Brazilian endpoint.

A virtual VPN location provides an IP address associated with one country while routing traffic through server hardware in another. From a website’s perspective, the registered Brazilian IP address can identify the connection as Brazilian even when its underlying hardware operates elsewhere.

PIA supports WireGuard and OpenVPN connections. WireGuard is a reasonable starting point because its lightweight design can provide efficient encrypted connections.

If Netflix does not display The Fate of the Furious, try switching between BR Streaming Optimized and the standard Brazil location. Clearing browser cookies, changing protocols, or reconnecting may also help with connection problems.

PIA provides additional instructions in its streaming support guide, including keeping the VPN application updated and clearing browsing data.

PIA also instructs subscribers to comply with streaming services’ geographic restrictions and terms. Even with a streaming-optimized location, Netflix may recognize PIA’s IP addresses and restrict access to region-specific movies.

2. ExpressVPN

ExpressVPN is another option for connecting to Brazil. The provider maintains two Brazilian server locations, giving users an alternative if one connection experiences problems.

The official ExpressVPN server directory currently lists Brazil and Brazil – 2. Both options support several connection protocols, including Lightway, WireGuard, and OpenVPN.

Start with Brazil. Open ExpressVPN, search for Brazil in the server list, and select the standard location. Wait until the application confirms the connection before reopening Netflix.

If The Fate of the Furious does not appear, disconnect and try Brazil – 2. This gives you another Brazilian server option without switching countries.

ExpressVPN’s São Paulo VPN page confirms that the provider operates two physical server locations in São Paulo.

Unlike virtual VPN locations that assign an IP address from one country while using hardware elsewhere, ExpressVPN’s documented Brazilian servers use physical infrastructure inside Brazil.

The provider’s virtual server documentation does not list Brazil as a virtual location. It also identifies Brazil as a physical hosting location for some virtual services associated with other South American countries.

ExpressVPN offers its Lightway protocol for establishing encrypted connections efficiently. You can also try WireGuard or OpenVPN if your application and operating system support them.

Its São Paulo server page identifies 10Gbps infrastructure and dedicated physical servers. However, actual streaming performance still depends on network congestion, your internet connection, and distance from the server.

Using two Brazilian locations gives you more than one connection to test if Netflix recognizes an IP address. You can also restart the Netflix app after changing servers to prevent an earlier session from interfering with a new connection.

However, physical servers in São Paulo do not guarantee access to Netflix Brazil. Netflix may still recognize ExpressVPN’s IP addresses as VPN traffic and limit the catalog to titles with worldwide distribution rights.

3. NordVPN

NordVPN provides another way to connect to Brazil, with more than 20 Brazilian servers and automatic connection options.

According to NordVPN’s official Brazil server page, the provider currently advertises more than 20 servers in Brazil and identifies São Paulo as a Brazilian IP location.

For the first connection, open NordVPN, select Brazil, and allow the application to choose an available server automatically. This is a convenient starting point if you do not have a preferred server.

You can also use the available São Paulo location controls or select another Brazilian server. If Netflix does not display The Fate of the Furious, disconnect and reconnect to obtain another available connection.

NordVPN’s official documentation focuses on country-level and server-level selection rather than offering several named Brazilian cities. Its published server count may change as the provider expands or adjusts its network.

Although NordVPN documents Brazilian IP availability, the public server page does not establish the physical hosting arrangement of every individual endpoint.

NordVPN also includes SmartPlay, a feature that combines VPN encryption with DNS technology to support secure streaming.

According to NordVPN’s SmartPlay documentation, the feature activates automatically when you connect through the NordVPN application.

You do not need to enable SmartPlay separately, install another extension, or change your DNS settings. It operates in the background as part of your regular VPN connection.

NordVPN also offers NordLynx, a protocol based on WireGuard technology that aims to deliver efficient encrypted connections.

If you experience slow loading times or buffering, reconnecting to another Brazilian server may help. Actual performance depends on your internet connection and current network conditions.

However, SmartPlay does not guarantee access to The Fate of the Furious or other region-specific Netflix movies. Netflix may still detect NordVPN and restrict playback.

What to do if The Fate of the Furious does not appear

If Netflix does not display The Fate of the Furious after you connect to Brazil, your browser may retain previous location information, or Netflix may have recognized the VPN connection. Try these troubleshooting steps:

1. Close Netflix completely.
2. Disconnect from the VPN.
3. Reconnect to Brazil.
4. Try another server or location in the same country.
5. Clear Netflix cookies and your browser cache.
6. Open a private or incognito browser window.
7. Reopen Netflix and sign in again.
8. Search for The Fate of the Furious.

Private Internet Access users should start with BR Streaming Optimized, followed by the standard Brazil location. ExpressVPN users can switch between Brazil and Brazil – 2. NordVPN users can reconnect automatically or choose another available Brazilian server.

You can also search for Velozes e Furiosos 8, the Portuguese title Netflix uses in Brazil. Make sure you select the 2017 movie starring Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, and Charlize Theron.

If the movie still does not appear, Netflix may be restricting the catalog because of VPN detection. The Netflix missing titles guide explains other possible causes, including regional licensing changes, profile maturity settings, and language preferences.

Netflix may detect the VPN

A VPN changes the public IP address Netflix sees when your device connects to the service. For example, connecting to a Brazilian VPN location generally gives Netflix a Brazilian IP address instead of your regular US address.

However, a Brazilian IP address does not guarantee access to the country’s Netflix catalog. Netflix may recognize that the connection comes from a VPN provider and limit which movies and shows appear.

According to Netflix’s official VPN support page, users connecting through a VPN may only see titles for which Netflix holds worldwide distribution rights.

That means The Fate of the Furious may remain unavailable in your search results even when your VPN application shows Brazil as the connected country.

Netflix may also display a VPN or proxy error. Its official troubleshooting documentation recommends disabling VPN connections when these errors occur.

Trying another Brazilian server may resolve some connection problems, but Netflix can still restrict regional playback. No VPN provider guarantees access to every Netflix catalog.

Can you use a Netflix ad-supported plan with a VPN?

No. Netflix currently states that its ad-supported experience does not support VPN connections.

If you subscribe to Netflix with ads, you may encounter playback errors or VPN-related restrictions when connecting through Private Internet Access, ExpressVPN, or NordVPN.

Netflix confirms this limitation in its VPN support documentation. To use an ad-supported subscription normally, disconnect your VPN.

An ad-free Netflix subscription avoids this particular restriction, but Netflix may still detect VPN connections and limit access to region-specific movies.

Does changing the VPN location change your Netflix account?

No. Connecting to a Brazilian VPN server does not change your Netflix email address, password, profiles, or existing account credentials.

The VPN changes the public IP address Netflix sees. It does not automatically convert your US Netflix subscription into a Brazilian account or modify your subscription information.

You can continue signing in with your existing Netflix credentials. However, the movies and shows Netflix displays may depend on regional licensing restrictions, account settings, and whether the service recognizes your VPN connection.

Current US streaming listings for The Fate of the Furious identify fuboTV, YouTube TV, and FXNow rather than Netflix. These services provide alternatives for watching the movie without changing your VPN location.

When you disconnect from the VPN, Netflix generally recognizes your regular internet location again without changing your account settings.

Which VPN should you use?

Private Internet Access is our first recommendation because it offers a dedicated BR Streaming Optimized location alongside its standard Brazilian VPN connection. Both provide Brazilian IP addresses, although Netflix may still detect the VPN and PIA requires users to comply with streaming services’ geographic restrictions.

ExpressVPN is a useful alternative thanks to its two physical São Paulo server locations. NordVPN also offers more than 20 Brazilian servers and includes SmartPlay, which activates automatically when you connect.

Netflix Brazil currently carries The Fate of the Furious (2017), making Brazil the verified international region for this guide. However, licensing agreements, VPN detection, and server availability can change, so connecting to Brazil does not guarantee playback from the United States.
