ExpressVPN not working with Omegle could put you in quite a predicament, especially if using Omegle anonymously is what made you turn to VPNs in the first place.

A lot of VPN services advertise their awesome geo-restriction removal capabilities.

In reality, things may be somewhat different and you may wake up one day and realize that your VPN doesn’t do exactly what it says.

If ExpressVPN doesn’t seem to work with Omegle for you, we have a quick guide that could help you fix the issue.

Does ExpressVPN work with Omegle?

Yes, ExpressVPN does work on Omegle, but some servers or IPs may be blocked. Despite Omegle’s efforts to block all VPN usage, ExpressVPN is one of the clients that work on the platform.

Thanks to its powerful encryption and security, ExpressVPN can grant you secure and anonymous access to Omegle. That being said, not all servers may work.

Omegle also bans IPs of those that don’t comply with their terms of use, and if those users access the platform from an ExpressVPN IP, you will not be able to use that specific IP either.

Quick Tip:

It’s possible that ExpressVPN isn’t the best choice for your configuration. You may be better off if you use another VPN for Omegle, and a good alternative is Private Internet Access.

PIA has over 35 000 speedy servers, giving you the possibility to switch between them as often as you need, which is great for Omegle. It has an easy-to-use app and advanced features like a killswitch and split tunnelling.

How can I fix ExpressVPN not working with Omegle?

✅ Preliminary checks

Before moving on and trying to troubleshoot the issue, make sure you do some basic checks and see if the problem persists:

→ Restart your PC
→ Update your web browser
→ Clear cookies and cached data
→ Restart your modem and/or router
→ Enable ExpressVPN’s kill switch
→ Make sure ExpressVPN is up to date
→ Launch your browser in incognito mode

1. Switch the VPN server

First of all, you have to understand that Omegle doesn’t require an account from its users.

Therefore, the only way you could get blocked on Omegle would be based on your IP address.

Now, assuming that another ExpressVPN user did some wrong deeds on Omegle using a certain IP address, that IP address might be blocked.

If you’re unfortunate enough to land on a server that has its IP address blacklisted on Omegle, a quick fix would be choosing another VPN server in ExpressVPN.

It’s a great way to access Omegle if you encounter server connection issues.

2. Choose a stealth server

ExpressVPN has stealth servers. This feature is also known as obfuscation since it masks VPN traffic as regular traffic to avoid detection.

If Omegle knows you’re behind a VPN and decides to deny your connection because of this, a stealth VPN server could definitely help.

Fortunately, ExpressVPN has obfuscation features, but not in the standard enable-disable-to-your-heart’s-content kind of way.

Instead, it offers stealth servers that you can connect to.

Now here’s the downside: there’s no way to tell a standard server from a stealth one.

So you’ll either have to experiment on your own or ask customer support for a list of stealth VPN servers. We’d go with the latter.

3. Enable private DNS

We won’t overburden you with unnecessary technical details, so we’ll try to keep it short.

A VPN with private DNS can do wonders with unblocking geo-restricted content.

In fact, private DNS has a higher chance of success compared to a VPN that lacks this feature.

ExpressVPN is one of the few VPN services that integrates private DNS.

Although this feature is enabled by default, there’s a chance it may be disabled on your PC.

To make sure this didn’t happen, head over to the Advanced tab in ExpressVPN’s Options window and enable the ExpressVPN DNS servers option.

4. Use ExpressVPN’s browser extension

Not enough people use their VPN’s browser extension and unfortunately, it shows.

If you can’t access Omegle from your PC due to WebRTC leaks, using ExpressVPN’s Chrome extension can definitely turn the tables.

Not only you’ll keep WebRTC leaks at a minimum (or better yet, eliminate them altogether).

With that in mind, we recommend you install the ExpressVPN browser extension, log in to your account, activate it, and try accessing Omegle once more.

For optimal results, we also advise you to clear your browser’s history, cookies, and cached content before installing the extension.

5. Flush your DNS

It’s not unheard of that cached data build-ups can affect your connectivity.

If you’re in this situation, certain websites, such as Omegle, may become inaccessible to you.

Obviously, the best way to fix this is to remove cached data, and in this case, we’re talking about DNS records on your system.

Here’s what you need to do in order to remove cached DNS data from your Windows 10 PC:

Flush DNS
  1. Launch a CMD instance with Administrator rights
  2. Type each command below, and press Enter after typing each one:
    • ipconfig /flushdns
    • ipconfig /registerdns
    • ipconfig /release
    • ipconfig /renew
    • netsh winsock reset
  3. Restart your PC

Once your PC restarts, launch ExpressVPN once more, connect to your favorite server, then launch your browser and try accessing Omegle once more.

If things go our way, you’ll notice that Omegle is now working, even with ExpressVPN.

6. Change your VPN protocol

Given that Omegle tries to block VPNs, it uses monitoring technologies to prevent VPN users from entering the platform.

Some suggest that changing to another VPN protocol can fix the issue because not all of them are as vulnerable/detectable.

  1. Open your ExpressVPN app.
  2. Navigate to Settings.
  3. Select Protocol.
  4. Pick another protocol from the list. We recommend Lightway UDP because it’s very secure and fast.expressvpn protocols
  5. Click ok and try to open Omegle again.

7. Reinstall ExpressVPN and its TAP adapters

  1. Disconnect from ExpressVPN and close the application.
  2. Head to Settings, and go to the apps and features section.
  3. Select ExpressVPN from the list of apps and click uninstall.
  4. Open Device Manager and go to the Network Adapter section. If you still have the ExpressVPN TAP adapter installed, right-click on it and select Uninstall device.
  5. Head to the ExpressVPN official website and download the dedicated app to your PC.
  6. Follow the installer wizard and launch & log in when it’s complete.
  7. Head to Omegle and see if the issue persists.

Reinstalling your app and TAP adapters can get rid of bugs and corrupt app files which are both common when you’ve had software installed for a while.

8. Disable IPV6

  1. Open Control Panel.
  2. Go to Network and Internet.
  3. Select Network and Sharing Center and Change Adapter settings.
  4. Select your connection (the network you are using).
  5. Right-click on it and select Properties.
  6. Find Internet ProtocolVersion 6 (TCP/IPv6) and make sure to uncheck the box next to it.
  7. After that, click ok to save your settings.
  8. Launch ExpressVPN and connect to a server and check if you can access Omegle now.

IPV6 is not supported by or may lead to problems with many VPN clients, so making sure it’s disabled can help fix this ExpressVPN not working with Omegle issue.

Is ExpressVPN banned on Omegle?

As mentioned, some ExpressVPN servers may be banned and the platform will ban your IP if they detect VPN usage.

If that happened to you and you wonder how I get unbanned from Omegle when using ExpressVPN, the quickest way is to just switch to a different server.

If you keep having problems with this client, consider changing to a different VPN client that may work better for you, such as Private Internet Access.

To wrap it up, if you notice that Omegle is not working with ExpressVPN, there are quite a few things you could try that might fix it.

You should try contacting ExpressVPN’s customer support.

If everything else fails, you could try to use a different VPN that might yield better results in this situation.
