How to Watch Quarantine 2: Terminal on Netflix in the US with a VPN (2026)

Quarantine 2: Terminal (2011) is available on Netflix Italy under the localized title Quarantena 2. Directed by John Pogue and starring Mercedes Mason, Josh Cooke, and Mattie Liptak, the horror sequel follows an outbreak aboard a passenger aircraft and the survivors’ desperate efforts to escape. The official Netflix Italy page for Quarantena 2 confirms the correct movie and lists English original audio, Italian dubbing, and several subtitle languages.

Quarantine 2: Terminal is not currently available through Netflix US. American viewers can find free, ad-supported viewing options and digital rentals, but Netflix’s Italian catalog provides a separate subscription listing. Private Internet Access, ExpressVPN, and NordVPN all offer Italian VPN servers, allowing users to establish encrypted connections through the country.

However, connecting to Italy through a VPN does not guarantee access to the movie. Netflix may restrict VPN users to globally licensed titles, and its ad-supported experience does not support VPN playback. The official Netflix VPN policy explains these limitations. You should also follow your VPN provider’s streaming rules.

How to watch Quarantine 2: Terminal on Netflix with a VPN

Netflix Italy lists the movie as Quarantena 2, so knowing its localized title can help you recognize the correct result. The following process explains how to check Netflix through an Italian VPN connection when your subscription and provider terms permit it.

1. Choose a VPN provider. Private Internet Access is our first recommendation, followed by ExpressVPN and NordVPN.
2. Download the official VPN application, install it on your device, and sign in.
3. Open the server selector and connect to Italy using one of the provider’s documented Italian locations.
4. Fully close Netflix, including any active browser tabs or background applications.
5. Reopen the Netflix website or application after establishing the VPN connection.
6. Sign in with your existing Netflix account and confirm that your plan supports VPN usage.
7. Search for Quarantine 2: Terminal or Quarantena 2, or enter the movie’s Netflix title ID 70189294.
8. If the movie appears and Netflix permits playback, select Play. If Netflix blocks access, disconnect the VPN and use an authorized viewing alternative.

Netflix Italy identifies the movie as a 2011 horror production with a 16+ rating. Its title page includes German, English, Spanish, French, and Italian audio, along with subtitles in German, Greek, English, French, Italian, and Ukrainian.

You can verify these details on the official Italian Netflix listing. It also identifies the film as available for offline downloads, although actual download eligibility depends on the account, device, and Netflix’s current rules.

The movie’s availability in Italy does not establish access through a US subscription connected to an Italian VPN server. Netflix can recognize VPN traffic and limit which titles appear.

For that reason, check Netflix’s official guidance and the VPN provider’s policies before purchasing a service specifically for this movie.

Best VPNs for watching Quarantine 2: Terminal on Netflix

All three recommended VPNs provide Italian server locations, but they differ in their city choices, streaming features, and network configurations.

VPN	Server locations in Italy	Option to try first
Private Internet Access (Editor’s Choice)	IT Milano, IT Naples, IT Streaming Optimized	IT Milano for a standard connection; IT Streaming Optimized for permitted local streaming
ExpressVPN	Italy – Milan, Italy – Cosenza, Italy – Naples	Italy – Milan
NordVPN	Milan, Rome, Palermo	Automatic Italy server selection

These locations come from the providers’ official documentation. ExpressVPN identifies its Naples location as virtual, with supporting infrastructure in Germany. The other listed ExpressVPN Italian locations do not appear in its published virtual-location directory.

VPN availability should not be confused with Netflix compatibility. Neither a specialized streaming location nor a particular city guarantees access to Quarantine 2: Terminal.

1. Private Internet Access

Private Internet Access, commonly known as PIA, is our Editor’s Choice for its configurable connection settings, detailed server directory, and streaming-focused Italian location.

PIA’s official October 2026 server list identifies three relevant choices: IT Milano, IT Naples, and IT Streaming Optimized.

This gives users two standard Italian locations and a dedicated streaming-optimized option for permitted streaming activities.

PIA also supports WireGuard and OpenVPN, offers a kill switch, and provides split tunneling on supported operating systems.

Which PIA Italy server should you choose?

IT Milano is a sensible first choice for an ordinary encrypted connection through Italy. PIA’s own Italy documentation identifies Milan as a physically hosted server location.

IT Naples provides another documented Italian option. If your regular connection experiences instability, you can compare the two locations to see which works better on your network.

IT Streaming Optimized is the provider’s specialized location for supported streaming services.

However, PIA’s official streaming policy requires users to connect to a server in their current country when streaming. It also prohibits circumventing geographic restrictions imposed by content providers.

That restriction is particularly relevant to American viewers interested in accessing Netflix Italy. PIA’s Italian server availability must not be interpreted as permission to bypass Netflix’s regional licensing agreements.

How to connect to an Italian PIA server

You can select a location directly from the PIA desktop or mobile application.

1. Open Private Internet Access and sign in.
2. Select the VPN SERVER section.
3. Expand Italy to view its available locations.
4. Choose IT Milano for a standard Italian VPN connection.
5. Select the connection button to establish the encrypted session.
6. If your permitted activity requires another Italian location, compare IT Naples or IT Streaming Optimized.

PIA publishes the exact names in its official server location directory.

Physical and virtual Italian servers

PIA operates physical and virtual server locations. A physical server is hosted in the country associated with the connection, while a virtual location may provide an IP address from one country through equipment hosted elsewhere.

PIA’s Italy-specific documentation identifies its Milan server as physical and based in Milan.

Its October 2026 application directory also lists IT Naples and IT Streaming Optimized, but the location names alone do not establish their exact hardware addresses.

Consequently, users shouldn’t assume that every Italian endpoint uses the same physical infrastructure.

Check PIA’s virtual server documentation if physical hosting is important to your privacy or networking requirements.

WireGuard, OpenVPN, and streaming performance

PIA supports WireGuard and OpenVPN, two established VPN protocols.

WireGuard emphasizes efficient encrypted connections and generally provides a useful starting point when you want responsive networking.

OpenVPN offers another option for networks where WireGuard experiences connectivity or compatibility problems.

Neither protocol changes Netflix’s licensing decisions. Netflix can still detect and restrict VPN traffic regardless of the protocol.

For uninterrupted video playback, connection stability matters as much as raw download speed. High latency, packet loss, or an overloaded local internet connection can cause buffering.

PIA advertises high-speed Italian infrastructure and unlimited bandwidth, but actual performance depends on your connection and selected server.

PIA streaming troubleshooting

If a supported streaming service experiences problems, check whether ordinary websites load through the VPN first.

If general browsing works, restart the streaming application and clear outdated browser cookies and cache.

PIA also recommends keeping its application updated and selecting an appropriate server for the service you want to use.

Where its terms permit streaming, use a streaming-optimized server matching your actual country.

Changing between IT Milano and IT Naples may help diagnose ordinary network performance issues, but it cannot guarantee that Netflix will permit access to regionally licensed movies.

For additional details, read PIA’s official streaming support and usage policy.

2. ExpressVPN

ExpressVPN offers three documented Italian server locations and several connection protocols, making it a flexible option for users who need encrypted traffic through Italy.

Its official server directory identifies Italy – Milan, Italy – Cosenza, and Italy – Naples.

These locations support Lightway UDP, Lightway TCP, WireGuard, OpenVPN UDP, and OpenVPN TCP, according to ExpressVPN’s current server information.

Which ExpressVPN Italian server should you choose?

Italy – Milan provides a sensible initial connection. The city appears in ExpressVPN’s official Italian server directory and is one of its established Italian network locations.

Italy – Cosenza provides another option for users who experience ordinary network issues or want to compare connection responsiveness.

Italy – Naples is also available, but there is an important infrastructure distinction.

ExpressVPN’s virtual server documentation identifies Italy – Naples as a virtual server location hosted through Germany.

That means the connection provides an Italian IP address while the underlying server infrastructure operates in Germany.

For users who specifically want physically Italian-hosted infrastructure, Milan or Cosenza offers a more appropriate documented starting point.

How to connect to Italy with ExpressVPN

ExpressVPN lets users select individual locations through its applications.

1. Open ExpressVPN and sign in.
2. Open the VPN location selector.
3. Search for Italy.
4. Select Italy – Milan.
5. Activate the VPN connection.
6. If your general network connection becomes unstable, compare Italy – Cosenza.
7. Use Italy – Naples when a virtual Italian location meets your networking requirements.

ExpressVPN provides a dedicated Italy VPN page describing these locations and its Italian network infrastructure.

Lightway, WireGuard, and OpenVPN

ExpressVPN supports Lightway, WireGuard, and OpenVPN on its documented Italian server locations.

Lightway aims to maintain responsive encrypted connections and reconnect efficiently when network conditions change.

WireGuard offers another efficient protocol option, while OpenVPN provides a widely supported alternative.

ExpressVPN recommends automatic protocol selection for ordinary users. Manual changes become more useful when a network blocks a particular protocol or experiences repeated connectivity problems.

The company’s Italy page also advertises high-capacity 10 Gbps and 40 Gbps infrastructure.

Those figures describe server network capacity, not a guaranteed download speed for an individual subscriber.

ExpressVPN virtual server considerations

ExpressVPN states that most of its network locations operate through infrastructure in the same country as their assigned IP addresses.

Its virtual-location documentation provides exceptions, including Italy – Naples, which operates through Germany.

This distinction does not automatically make a virtual location less secure. It simply means that the location associated with the IP address differs from the hardware’s physical country.

Users who care about server jurisdiction or physical routing should review the ExpressVPN virtual server directory before choosing a destination.

ExpressVPN streaming troubleshooting

If Netflix or another streaming application fails while ExpressVPN is active, check whether ordinary internet traffic works.

If websites load normally, close the streaming application and restart it. Outdated cookies or cached session information can sometimes contribute to location or login problems.

For general VPN connectivity issues, compare Milan and Cosenza or allow ExpressVPN to select an appropriate connection protocol.

However, server switching cannot guarantee access to Netflix Italy’s catalog.

Netflix may detect the VPN connection and restrict playback independently of the selected Italian city.

ExpressVPN’s Italian network provides encrypted connectivity, but the company cannot override Netflix’s licensing decisions.

3. NordVPN

NordVPN offers Italian VPN servers, automatic server selection, NordLynx, and SmartPlay functionality.

Its official Italy server page identifies Milan, Rome, and Palermo as available location choices.

The provider also advertises more than 60 servers in Italy on its official country page. Server counts can change as NordVPN expands or reorganizes its infrastructure.

Which NordVPN Italy server should you use?

The simplest option is to choose Italy and allow NordVPN to select a suitable server automatically.

Automatic selection can reduce unnecessary configuration because the application evaluates available connection choices.

If you want to choose a city manually, NordVPN’s Italian documentation identifies Milan, Rome, and Palermo.

These locations give users flexibility when choosing a network endpoint for privacy or performance.

No verified evidence establishes that any one Italian NordVPN city consistently provides access to Quarantine 2: Terminal on Netflix.

How to connect to Italy with NordVPN

NordVPN offers a country list, a map interface, and manual location choices.

1. Open NordVPN and sign in.
2. Search for Italy in the country list.
3. Select Italy to let NordVPN choose a server automatically.
4. Confirm that the application reports a successful connection.
5. If your ordinary internet connection experiences instability, disconnect and select another Italian server.
6. Use Milan, Rome, or Palermo when the application provides an appropriate manual choice.

NordVPN’s official Italy VPN server page documents the country-specific options and connection process.

NordLynx and connection performance

NordLynx is NordVPN’s WireGuard-based VPN technology. It aims to provide efficient encrypted connections without requiring extensive manual configuration.

For everyday browsing and authorized streaming, NordLynx offers a sensible default.

Actual performance depends on the distance to the selected server, network congestion, your internet connection, and the destination service.

If you experience repeated disconnections, try another available server in Italy and make sure your NordVPN application is current.

Switching connection protocols may help resolve normal networking problems, but it does not establish permission to access regional Netflix titles.

How NordVPN SmartPlay works

NordVPN includes SmartPlay in its applications. The feature combines VPN encryption and DNS-related functionality to support secure streaming connections.

According to NordVPN, SmartPlay activates automatically whenever users connect through the NordVPN application.

You do not need to install a separate SmartPlay program or manually activate it.

This simplifies connections for users who want to protect traffic while watching services that permit VPN access.

However, SmartPlay does not guarantee that Netflix will make Quarantine 2: Terminal available through an Italian VPN server.

Netflix may still recognize the connection and limit the movie catalog.

For details, consult the official NordVPN SmartPlay documentation.

NordVPN streaming troubleshooting

If Netflix does not function correctly, first check whether your internet connection works outside the streaming application.

For ordinary VPN performance issues, reconnect to Italy and compare another available server.

If you need a manually selected Italian location, Milan, Rome, and Palermo appear in NordVPN’s documentation.

Restart the streaming application and remove outdated browser data if a previous session appears to interfere with playback.

If Netflix identifies the VPN, changing servers may not solve the problem.

NordVPN’s Italian locations and SmartPlay functionality provide connection features, but Netflix controls regional access and can restrict VPN traffic.

What to do if Quarantine 2: Terminal does not appear

Quarantine 2: Terminal may disappear from Netflix search results because of regional licensing, VPN detection, cached browser information, or profile restrictions. These troubleshooting steps can help identify ordinary connection issues, but they cannot guarantee access to Netflix Italy.

1. Close Netflix completely, including active browser tabs and background applications.
2. Disconnect from the VPN to reset the current connection.
3. Reconnect to Italy if the connection complies with your VPN provider’s terms and your intended use.
4. Try another documented Italian server or location to diagnose ordinary connection instability.
5. Clear Netflix cookies and your browser cache.
6. Open a new incognito or private browser window.
7. Reopen Netflix and sign in using your existing account.
8. Search for Quarantine 2: Terminal or its Italian title, Quarantena 2.

Private Internet Access offers IT Milano, IT Naples, and IT Streaming Optimized. Its streaming policy requires customers to use a location matching their current country and prohibits circumventing content-provider geographic restrictions.

ExpressVPN users can compare Milan, Cosenza, and Naples for ordinary network issues. Remember that Naples is a virtual Italian location with hardware hosted in Germany.

NordVPN users can reconnect automatically or select another Italian location, including Milan, Rome, or Palermo.

In every case, changing servers does not guarantee Netflix playback.

The movie appears under Quarantena 2 in Italian catalogs, while US services generally use Quarantine 2: Terminal.

Netflix also considers regional licensing, profile maturity restrictions, language settings, and VPN detection when determining which titles appear.

Consult the official Netflix missing-title troubleshooting guide for additional explanations.

If Netflix still does not offer the movie, check authorized US streaming services instead of purchasing multiple VPN subscriptions.

Netflix may detect the VPN

A VPN routes internet traffic through a remote server. Websites generally see the server’s public IP address rather than your normal residential IP address.

However, Netflix can recognize certain VPN or proxy connections and apply additional content restrictions.

The company’s official policy explains that VPN users may see only titles for which Netflix holds worldwide streaming rights.

This means connecting to Italy does not necessarily display the same movies that Italian Netflix subscribers see through ordinary residential connections.

Netflix may hide Quarantena 2, display a playback error, or show a reduced catalog.

These restrictions can apply even when your VPN functions correctly for other websites.

Neither Private Internet Access, ExpressVPN, nor NordVPN controls Netflix’s movie licensing agreements.

For additional details, read Netflix’s official VPN viewing policy.

Can you use a Netflix ad-supported plan with a VPN?

No. Netflix states that its ad-supported experiences do not support VPN viewing.

If you use a Netflix plan with advertisements and connect through a VPN, the service may display a playback error.

Netflix recommends disconnecting the VPN when this restriction causes problems.

An ad-free subscription avoids this particular incompatibility, but Netflix can still detect VPN connections and restrict regionally licensed movies.

Consequently, upgrading to an ad-free subscription does not guarantee that Quarantine 2: Terminal will appear through an Italian VPN server.

Netflix’s official support page for VPN connections explains the distinction.

Does changing the VPN location change your Netflix account?

No. Selecting an Italian VPN server does not automatically change your Netflix account credentials, password, profiles, payment method, or billing country.

The VPN changes the public IP address associated with your internet connection.

Netflix may use that information alongside other signals when determining the content available through a connection.

However, changing your apparent IP location does not transfer your account to Italy or guarantee access to the Italian catalog.

Netflix maintains different content libraries because studios and distributors license movies separately across territories.

Quarantine 2: Terminal illustrates that distinction. Netflix Italy lists the film, while current Netflix US streaming listings do not.

American viewers can check current US streaming options for Quarantine 2: Terminal.

JustWatch identifies The Roku Channel and YouTube Free as free, ad-supported options, alongside rentals and purchases through Amazon Video, Apple TV Store, and Fandango at Home.

Those alternatives may be easier to use than relying on access to a different country’s Netflix catalog.

Which VPN should you use?

Private Internet Access is our Editor’s Choice for its configurable VPN connections, WireGuard and OpenVPN support, and three documented Italian locations: IT Milano, IT Naples, and IT Streaming Optimized. Its streaming policy is especially important for US viewers because PIA requires streaming through a server in the user’s current country and prohibits bypassing geographic restrictions. Choose PIA for its privacy features rather than expecting guaranteed Netflix Italy access.

ExpressVPN provides Milan, Cosenza, and Naples locations, along with Lightway, WireGuard, and OpenVPN support. Naples is a virtual location hosted through Germany, an important distinction for users concerned about physical server routing. NordVPN offers Italian connections in Milan, Rome, and Palermo, automatic server selection, NordLynx, and SmartPlay, which operates automatically when the VPN connects.

Quarantine 2: Terminal (2011), also known as Quarantena 2, appears on Netflix Italy’s official title page and in JustWatch’s Italian streaming catalog, while Netflix US does not currently offer it. Although all three VPN providers support Italian connections, Netflix licensing, VPN detection, subscription restrictions, and provider terms mean playback is not guaranteed. American viewers can also watch through authorized US streaming services.
