This hands-on ProxyEmpire review will give you everything you need to know about the service. It’s among the fastest-rising proxy providers right now.
I’ve used it to run lightweight projects before, but I’ve never pushed it to the limit.
Until now.
In the last few days, I benchmarked ProxyEmpire’s proxies. The process involved blasting them with 180,000+ requests.
Crazy, right? I wanted to uncover its performance under heavy load and see if it’s truly worth it.
Interested to know the results? Let’s dive right in!
ProxyEmpire Services
ProxyEmpire isn’t new on the market. Founded in 2020, it offers a rich mix of proxies, perfect for projects of any size.
Its network comprises 25+ million IPs available in about 170 countries. These come from clean sources to ensure you evade online blocks and CAPTCHAs.
Some services it offers include residential, mobile, and datacenter proxies. These are fine-tuned to deliver fast speeds and reliability, including a 99% average uptime guarantee.
Moreover, this vendor allows unlimited concurrent connections for running demanding tasks. It also provides sticky sessions and geo-filtering down to the ISP level.
Getting started is equally super easy, thanks to the beginner-friendly user dashboard. Additionally, customer support is available 24/7 to help whenever you get stuck.
ProxyEmpire offers a $1.97 trial to explore the service before fully committing. This comes with 100MB of residential bandwidth and 50MB of mobile data.
Let’s analyze the services in detail.
1. Residential proxies
Residential proxies are ProxyEmpire’s most popular product. It features about 10 million premium IPs spread across 170 countries.
The service supports filtering based on country, region, city, and internet service provider (ISP). Such flexibility allows you to tweak your tasks with high precision.
ProxyEmpire secures proxies using a username and password to prevent unauthorized usage. Unfortunately, IP whitelisting isn’t available at this time.
Auto-rotation is available by default, ranging from 90 to 3,600-second intervals. The session duration toggle makes this easy to adjust.
For sticky sessions, you may have to opt for the private residential service. But more about this later.
Moving on, connections employ HTTP or SOCKS5 based on your port choice. Unlike its rivals, ProxyEmpire doesn’t offer the more secure HTTPS.
You can generate up to 3,000 proxies using multiport or an unlimited amount with singleport. Additionally, exporting them is easy using the copy/paste function.
Pricing starts from $3/GB/month. Pay-as-you-go (PAYG) is available for just $9/GB.
Now, to the numbers that matter.
Performance benchmarks
ProxyEmpire’s residential proxies promise high success rates and fast response times. To see if that’s true, I sent 36,000+ requests targeting random and select regions.
The main target was Cloudflare CDN, known for being unbiased and responsive. Additionally, it has servers in nearly all countries on the planet.
One of the tools I used is FOGLDN, alongside other third-party test scripts. The results? Outstanding!
Gateway | Requests sent | Successful | Failed | % Successful | Avg Speed (Seconds) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Random | 15000 | 14956 | 44 | 99.71% | 0.81s |
United States | 3000 | 2982 | 18 | 99.40% | 1.13s |
United Kingdom | 3000 | 2996 | 4 | 99.87% | 0.60s |
Australia | 3000 | 2991 | 9 | 99.70% | 1.98s |
Germany | 3000 | 2993 | 7 | 99.77% | 0.82s |
France | 3000 | 2994 | 6 | 99.80% | 0.58s |
India | 3000 | 2983 | 17 | 99.43% | 1.84s |
Kenya | 3000 | 2985 | 15 | 99.50% | 1.50s |
Average | 36000 | 35880 | 120 | 99.64% | 1.15s |
ProxyEmpire’s 99.64% success rate is on par with giants like Smartproxy. This can come in handy when performing massive web scraping tasks.
The average response time of 1.15 seconds is good. However, it falls short of the promised 0.60 seconds.
However, the outcome can vary depending on your setup. Regardless, you should expect results with pinpoint accuracy.
Geo-targeting benchmarks
This is an area where Smartproxy struggles to deliver. Fortunately, ProxyEmpire smokes the competition.
Gateway | Requests sent | Successful | Discrepancy | % Successful | % Discrepancy |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
United States | 3000 | 3000 | 0 | 100.00% | 0.00% |
United Kingdom | 3000 | 3000 | 0 | 100.00% | 0.00% |
Australia | 3000 | 3000 | 0 | 100.00% | 0.00% |
Germany | 3000 | 3000 | 0 | 100.00% | 0.00% |
France | 3000 | 3000 | 0 | 100.00% | 0.00% |
India | 3000 | 3000 | 0 | 100.00% | 0.00% |
Kenya | 3000 | 3000 | 0 | 100.00% | 0.00% |
Average | 21000 | 21000 | 0 | 100.00% | 0.00% |
The results show that all 21,000 requests were routed through the correct country. Thus, a flawless 100% result is always guaranteed for projects that require geo-targeting.
Performance with popular targets
This is another sector where ProxyExpire performs better than its bigger rivals. Out of the 12,000 US-based requests, 99.55% went through successfully.
Target | Requests Sent | Successful | Failed | % Successful | Avg Speed (Seconds) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
3000 | 2986 | 14 | 99.53% | 1.05s | |
Amazon | 3000 | 2979 | 21 | 99.30% | 1.17s |
Walmart | 3000 | 2987 | 13 | 99.57% | 1.18s |
Target | 3000 | 2988 | 12 | 99.60% | 1.11s |
Social media | 3000 | 2992 | 8 | 99.73% | 1.10s |
Average | 99.55% | 1.12s |
This is higher than Smartproxy’s 96.13% and Proxy Seller’s 98.96%. However, the 1.12s response time lags behind the competition’s 0.86s average.
The slight difference is hardly noticeable when scraping volumes of data. After all, the high success rate balances out this minor variation.
2. Private residential proxies
These are almost the same as residential proxies. However, they offer extended sticky sessions from 10 minutes and above.
With this option, the IPs remain static until they become unavailable. This occasionally occurs when ProxyEmpire refreshes its proxy pools.
But tests show they slightly lag behind the standard residential proxies. Find more details below.
Performance benchmarks
When testing private residential proxies, I sent about 8,000 requests. The configuration was the same, largely involving the use of FOGLDN.
Gateway | Requests sent | Successful | Failed | % Successful | Avg Speed (Seconds) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Random | 1000 | 964 | 36 | 96.40% | 1.32s |
United States | 1000 | 930 | 70 | 93.00% | 1.55s |
United Kingdom | 1000 | 918 | 82 | 91.80% | 1.38s |
Australia | 1000 | 864 | 136 | 86.40% | 3.48s |
Germany | 1000 | 857 | 143 | 85.70% | 1.63s |
France | 1000 | 456 | 544 | 45.60% | 3.03s |
India | 1000 | 919 | 81 | 91.90% | 1.84s |
Kenya | 1000 | 891 | 109 | 89.10% | 2.91s |
Average | 8000 | 6799 | 1201 | 84.99% | 2.14s |
The 84.99% success rate is enough to affect the quality of results. This is due to proxies failing to respond and requests being timed out.
Again, results may differ depending on your setup. But it’s crucial to take note of this.
Geo-targeting benchmarks
ProxyEmpire doesn’t struggle with geo-targeting. Out of the 8,000 requests, none were routed through the wrong country.
Gateway | Requests sent | Successful | Discrepancy | % Successful | % Discrepancy |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
United States | 1000 | 1000 | 0 | 100.00% | 0.00% |
United Kingdom | 1000 | 1000 | 0 | 100.00% | 0.00% |
Australia | 1000 | 1000 | 0 | 100.00% | 0.00% |
Germany | 1000 | 1000 | 0 | 100.00% | 0.00% |
France | 1000 | 1000 | 0 | 100.00% | 0.00% |
India | 1000 | 1000 | 0 | 100.00% | 0.00% |
Kenya | 1000 | 1000 | 0 | 100.00% | 0.00% |
Average | 1000 | 1000 | 0 | 100.00% | 0.00% |
Scraping data by targeting specific regions shouldn’t be a problem. You can trust its geo-targeting for accurate and reliable data collection.
Performance with popular targets
I sent about 5,000 requests using US-based private residential proxies. The main targets included popular platforms like Google, Amazon, Facebook, etc.
Targets | Requests sent | Successful | Failed | % Successful | Avg Speed (Seconds) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1000 | 944 | 56 | 94.40% | 1.23s | |
Amazon | 1000 | 924 | 76 | 92.40% | 2.14s |
Walmart | 1000 | 957 | 43 | 95.70% | 1.52s |
Target | 1000 | 970 | 30 | 97.00% | 1.84s |
Social media | 1000 | 943 | 57 | 94.30% | 2.63s |
Average | 94.76% | 1.87s |
The 94.76% success rate is lower than the expected 99.00%.
3. Residential mobile proxies
ProxyEmpire has residential mobile proxies comprising a pool of 4+ million IPs. These include a mix of 4G and 5G proxies sourced from reliable cellular ISPs in 170+ countries.
The geographical coverage is more extensive than what most vendors on the market provide. You can even target specific mobile carriers to suit your needs.
It is possible to filter proxies from the country down to the city level. Auto-rotation is available at intervals of 90 to 3,600 seconds.
Again, you get the usual username/password authentication to lock out bad guys. Apart from that, the supported connection protocols include HTTPS and SOCKS5.
Pricing plans are affordable, starting from $8/GB/month. Alternatively, choose PAYG plans that provide non-expiry bandwidth.
Dedicated 4G/5G mobile proxies are also in stock, with prices starting from $125/month. These offer unlimited traffic and connections routed through actual physical devices.
Here are the key metrics.
Performance benchmarks
I sent around 33,000 requests targeting random locations and select countries. The quality of the output is evident from the results below.
Gateway | Requests Sent | Successful | Failed | % Successful | Avg Speed (Seconds) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Random | 12000 | 11976 | 24 | 99.80% | 1.36s |
United States | 3000 | 2985 | 15 | 99.50% | 1.38s |
United Kingdom | 3000 | 2995 | 5 | 99.83% | 0.93s |
Australia | 3000 | 2995 | 5 | 99.83% | 2.32s |
Germany | 3000 | 2989 | 11 | 99.63% | 1.00s |
France | 3000 | 2992 | 8 | 99.73% | 0.95s |
India | 3000 | 2989 | 11 | 99.63% | 2.17s |
Kenya | 3000 | 2986 | 14 | 99.53% | 1.50s |
Average | 33000 | 32907 | 93 | 99.69% | 1.45s |
The success rate of mobile proxies is high, at 99.69%. The response time of 1.45 seconds is pretty good for bulk projects.
Surprisingly, ProxyEmpire edges out Smartproxy and Proxy Seller here. You should count on it to process tasks faster and more efficiently.
Geo-targeting benchmarks
ProxyEmpire still doesn’t slack when it comes to geo-targeting. All the 21,000 requests sent to select targets hit their intended targets.
Gateway | Requests Sent | Successful | Discrepancy | % Successful | % Discrepancy |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
United States | 3000 | 3000 | 0 | 100.00% | 0.00% |
United Kingdom | 3000 | 3000 | 0 | 100.00% | 0.00% |
Australia | 3000 | 3000 | 0 | 100.00% | 0.00% |
Germany | 3000 | 3000 | 0 | 100.00% | 0.00% |
France | 3000 | 3000 | 0 | 100.00% | 0.00% |
India | 3000 | 3000 | 0 | 100.00% | 0.00% |
Kenya | 3000 | 3000 | 0 | 100.00% | 0.00% |
Average | 21000 | 21000 | 0 | 100.00% | 0.00% |
Proxy Seller also shines here with a 100% score. However, it doesn’t offer mobile carrier targeting like this vendor.
Performance with popular targets
Mobile proxies always impress when handling web scraping tasks. This makes them suitable for gathering data from platforms that enforce anti-scraping.
Here are the numbers:
Target | Requests sent | Successful | Failed | % Successful | Avg Speed (Seconds) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
3000 | 2986 | 14 | 99.53% | 1.05s | |
Amazon | 3000 | 2977 | 23 | 99.23% | 1.17s |
Walmart | 3000 | 2966 | 34 | 98.87% | 1.78s |
Target | 3000 | 2984 | 16 | 99.47% | 1.11s |
Social media | 3000 | 2918 | 82 | 97.27% | 1.10s |
Average | 98.87% | 1.24s |
The success rate from the 15,000 sent requests averaged 98.87%. Given the scope of this benchmark, the 1.24s response time is fast.
4. Datacenter proxies
Datacenter proxies (DC) are an affordable choice, especially for scraping data at scale. Prices start from $0.35/GB/, with PAYG starting from $2/GB.
You can use HTTPS and SOCKS5 connection protocols. Username/password authentication is standard for safeguarding your proxies.
There are about eleven countries to choose from for tasks that need geo-targeting. The top regions comprise the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Hong Kong, etc.
ProxyEmpire allows you to generate lists with up to 10,000 proxies. As usual, use copy/paste to export them at your convenience.
Performance benchmarks
I ran two tests targeting the United States and the United Kingdom. The total number of requests was about 20,000 – 10,000 for each country.
Gateway | Requests sent | Successful | Failed | % Successful | Avg Speed (Seconds) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
United States | 10000 | 9987 | 13 | 99.87% | 1.28s |
United Kingdom | 10000 | 9713 | 287 | 97.13% | 1.74s |
The US success rate was slightly higher than the UK’s. Furthermore, it had a lower response time.
Download speeds
Datacenter proxies are usually popular for large-scale operations because they’re cheap. Apart from price, their speed is vital for gathering bulk data fast.
For this test, I configured ProxyEmpire’s service on my computer. Then, I ran several checks using Speedtest.net.
Without proxy | Download | Upload | Response time | |
---|---|---|---|---|
Download | 24Mb/s | 21Mb/s | 18Mbps | 133ms |
The download and upload speeds are exceptional. You can confidently manage tasks with minimal errors, regardless of size.
Performance with popular targets
I deployed 3,000 connections using US-based datacenter proxies. The targets comprised Google, Amazon, and Target.
Each of those received 1,000 requests to ensure uniformity. The outcome is as follows:
Target | Requests sent | Successful | Failed | % Successful | Avg Speed (Seconds) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1000 | 940 | 60 | 94.00% | 1.22s | |
Amazon | 1000 | 1000 | 0 | 100.00% | 1.31s |
Target | 1000 | 1000 | 0 | 100.00% | 0.96s |
Average | 98.00% | 1.16s |
Google’s success rate was slightly lower, at 94%. The rest of the targets maintained a clean sheet.
Notably, ProxyEmpire performs better than Smartproxy all around. But both are nowhere near Proxy Seller’s 0.32s average response time.
Enough with the numbers!
Customer support
ProxyEmpire extends customer support 24/7 via live chat and email. I found the agents welcoming, fast, and knowledgeable.
There’s also a knowledge base where you can find quick answers. However, it’s pretty basic and not as extensive as Smartproxy’s.
Apart from that, you can find helpful information from the company’s blog. It covers different topics catering to both novice and advanced users.
How to use ProxyEmpire
You don’t need technical know-how to get started with ProxyEmpire. Just follow these steps:
1. Signing up
The first thing you need to do is create an account on the official ProxyEmpire website. Currently, the vendor only allows you to sign up using email.
While it’s still popular, other providers allow registering using social accounts too.
After creating an account, you may be required to verify your email. This helps to keep spammers off the platform.
2. User dashboard
The user dashboard is simple and less intimidating than Smartproxy’s. Every function is neatly tucked on the left-side menu bar.
This arrangement allows easy navigation and customization of your proxies. You can also upgrade and seek support with just a few clicks.
It’s also mobile-friendly and adapts well to small screen sizes. Accordingly, you can work on the go without carrying bulky devices.
3. Subscribing to services
To subscribe, you need to choose a service from the menu. However, I found it convenient to use the top-up option.
It displays all the available products and lists the payment methods. Some include PayPal, credit cards, cryptocurrencies, etc.
On the downside, ProxyEmpire doesn’t offer any refunds. Ensure you use the paid trial before committing to long-term contracts.
4. Managing proxies
Managing proxies is straightforward. You start by selecting your active product from the menu.
Once you do that, you’ll view all tools for applying desired customizations. Some include geo-filtering, proxy generator, auto-rotation timer, and more.
Another thing you can do is create a team and add members. This is handy for delegating tasks and collaborating effectively with others.
5. Usage tracking
You can track your bandwidth usage straight from your dashboard. The data may take several hours to update, which I find inconvenient.
Unfortunately, there’s no option to view the number of requests made. Smartproxy, on the other hand, displays the targets and refreshes activities in real-time.
Apart from that, the bandwidth converter is something I really like about ProxyEmpire. You can seamlessly transfer unused traffic from one product to another.
However, this is only limited to residential and private residential services. On the whole, it can save you money, especially when switching between proxies.
ProxyEmpire
Get this fast, robust, and reliable proxy service without breaking the bank. Enjoy unbeatable performance even for demanding tasks.ProxyEmpire Review – Verdict
ProxyEmpire offers a diverse selection of competitively priced proxies for various needs. Its quality speaks for itself, as seen in the performance benchmarks.
With its intuitive dashboard, getting started is quick and simple. Customer support is also proactive in ensuring you don’t get stuck.
While the residential proxies are the main highlight, the other services also deliver. Whatever your requirements, count on this vendor to meet them.
Overall, I trust this ProxyEmpire review answers all your questions. If you’re unsure, use the $1.97 trial to explore it yourself.
