To find out the exact data transfer speed when using a VPN service, you will first need to be aware of the baseline speed readings of the internet connection directly from your ISP.
Follow these steps to test your VPN server speed:

- Next, open a speed-test website like SpeedTest.net.
- Next, click the large Go button at the website’s center.

How did we run our VPN server speed tests?
We used 12 servers, including the original location, to run the VPN server speed tests. The servers chosen are spread across countries in North America, South America, Australia, Asia, and Europe.
By testing servers close to and far from each other, we can better understand how the VPN speed results vary from one location to the other.
Each VPN server was tested multiple times at consecutive intervals and with time breaks. Once we finished, we recorded the best values and computed the average for ping, download speed, upload speed, and the percentage of download speed decrease from the original location.
